TSK+ Black Forest Gateau Mince Pies (Edible Presents Part 2)
Start making these now for a perfectly tasty mincemeat before Christmas!
Hello and welcome back to The Seasonal Kitchen + ! I am currently sat next to my bizzare looking Christmas tree. Why bizzare you ask? As I have two very young children, the baubles have now relocated to the top half of the tree, however, this hasn’t deterred them. I understand I am fighting a losing battle, because the kids have a secret weapon, our two enormous Norwegian Forest Cats.
Toulouse is a bouncy, climby cat who likes to climb any surface he sees fit , so seeing the tree which is not only covered in lights and baubles and other very silly paraphernalia (christmas hammer anyone?), it is also covered in little birds. This of course means Toulouse, out of nowhere, will descend from a height to the tree from any angle- and at any time.
Then there’s Paddy/ Pookie. Ah sweet, sweet Paddy. She’s a gorgeous lump of fat & fur with one brain cell , who has a mad episode once a year, and usually activated by our tree. (The twinkling lights hypnotise her- leading to an energy build-up I can only compare to a cow running at full pelt.)
So enough about my cats & children and onto the MAIN attraction. Black Forest Gateau Mince Pies.
